Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to pay up front or can I pay every week?
Yes, you have to pay up front. All payments need to be in by Oct. 25th. By paying up front, you are making a commitment to eating healthy, and to buying from our farm. This makes our production scheduling easier and allows us to offer you our great produce at such a discount.
What do I get in the box?
While the contents of the box will vary from week to week, you can expect to get the best of what we have in your weekly box. We will be offering many types of tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, squashes, zucchinis, cucumbers, lettuces, cabbages, kales, collards, chards, beets, onions, and watermelons. There may be a few more delicious items too.
What is a CSA?
CSA Stands for Community Supported Agriculture. Basically, by buying your veggies from your local farm(us) you help us by guaranteeing sales and we help you by providing ultra fresh and ultra cheap organic produce picked just for you.
How much does it cost?
The medium box is $430 and the large box is $630. This price is for the whole season which lasts 26 weeks. The average cost per week is $17 and $25 respectively. If you live on the east coast there is a one time $30 delivery fee.
Why is it better than the grocery store?
The produce you will be getting in you Garden in a Box will be organic, of equal or better quality to that of the grocery stores, at least a week fresher and may even be two weeks fresher than the same produce in the grocery store. By buying your veggies directly from us, get produce that was picked that same day or the day before.
Where do I pick up my Garden in a Box?
We have several drop off locations and are adding them as needed. You can see them all on our website – www.ladymooncsa.com. Let me know if you want to be a drop spot or know a good location to set up a potential drop spot. If there are not any convenient locations, ask me if I can set something up for you.
Is there any incentive for being a drop off/pick up location?
Yes there is. If you are a drop spot that has 10 or more people, we will give you 10% off your box. If you have 20 people we will give you 20% off your box etc.????
What if I don’t like eggplant?
Try to have an open mind to the produce. I will be including recipes each week and they will be archived on the farm’s website: www.ladymooncsa.com. If you still don’t like it, make a friend with a neighbor and give them the item. If you don’t like vegetables, the Garden in a Box may not be for you.
What happens if I miss my pick up?
If you are running late, call me a.s.a.p., I may be able to circle back and get it to you. All extra boxes that are not picked up will be donated to local soup kitchens.
What happens if I am away?
If you are not going to be there, let me know in advance so I do not bring extra items in my truck. You could designate someone to get yours for you, or you can donate your box to the soup kitchen I support at the Salvation Army in downtown Ft Myers.

Yes it is organic! We have been organic since 1987 when we started farming in Pennsylvania.
Is it going to be really dirty?
All of our produce will have been washed, precooled and hand packed by our professional packing crew.
Why is it important to my family that your farm is Food Safety Certified?
Food safety is very important to your family. What it means is that our farm has been inspected by a third party and the risk of cross contamination of food borne illnesses has been assessed and is negligible. In short this means the produce you will be getting will have been certified to be free of pathogens. It means our employees have been trained in minimizing cross contamination of these pathogens and it means that the produce will have been washed and packed to the highest standards.
